Our Goals
At TAGDit, our goal is to create a space where data searching is transformed, offering a per-spective that goes beyond traditional search engines. We build a community grounded in the principles of freedom of choice, data quality, and alternative democracy, empowering users to access information but also actively engage in its management and curation. TAGDit elevates the concept of social bookmarking to the next level, bridging the gap between those who gener-ate high-quality data and those who seek it. This way, each member can rate, select, and decide what information they want to see and share, creating a fairer, more collaborative platform.
Our Mission

TAGDit: Designed to Unlock the Power of Data
Today’s search engines filter and present data based on their own criteria, often excluding valuable information or imposing biases that limit the diversity of search results. At TAGDit, we believe in the right to broader, fairer access to knowledge. That’s why we offer a platform where:
- YOU control the data you manage, store, and share.
- YOU create and own your own portal and database.
- YOU choose the search algorithm.
- YOU assess the quality of the data you find.
TAGDit empowers you to be the true owner of your search experience, putting the power of managing and evaluating information like never before in your hands.
Our Story
TAGDit’s story begins with a common frustration: the control that traditional search engines have over access to information. Its founder, Jode, questioned this centralization of power and began searching for a fairer and more transparent data governance model. This quest led to the creation of the “Democratic Quality Vector,” an algorithm designed to offer a flexible, democratic approach to data management.
To bring this vision to life, Jode created TAGDit, an open space where anyone can develop their own data portal and turn it into a living library fueled by both human intelligence and algorithms. TAGDit has grown to support a diverse community—from scientists and researchers to small businesses and non-profits—offering a tool that allows users to collaborate, classify, and share high-quality information, enhancing productivity and sustainable growth.
“I love ideas and have a real commitment to plumbing the depths of human thought” Jode
An App for Research and Innovation
Originally, TAGDit was conceived as a personal project by Jode to facilitate his scientific research, particularly in the field of physics. Over time, it became an invaluable tool for other scientists and teams who value freedom and quality in their data searches. TAGDit is the ideal place for individuals passionate about research, eager to explore, cast votes on development directions, and collaborate in building shared, accessible knowledge.

Why Does TAGDit Exist?
TAGDit was born out of the necessity to bypassto overcome the limitations imposed by opaque algorithms that often determine which information is deemed relevant. This restrictive approach prompted Jode to question whether there was a more effective way to manage data and democratize access to it. Inspired by the concept of “liquid democracy,” Jode developed the Democratic Quality Vector, a system that allows users to choose between centralized governance or decentralized voting, transforming TAGDit into a unique experience of participatory democracy in data management.
TAGDit transcends the role of a mere data platform; it’s an innovative experiment in applying democratic principles to information. The portals’ data analytics and voting option are gathered for future research to understand how democratic governance can enhance the quality and diversity of available information.

Meet the founder

A physicist by nature, with a background in biophysics and theoretical physics, Jode Himann now dedicates his talents to TAGDit full-time. Before founding TAGDit, he established Nemalux Industrial in 2003, a pioneering company specializing in engineering applications for extreme and hazardous locations.
The company made significant contributions to the photonics industry, collaborating with institutions such as SpaceX, NASA, the US Navy, Johns Hopkins University, and the University of Calgary. Today, it’s a multi-million dollar enterprise focused on innovative lighting technologies.
In 2016, Himann invented and patented a groundbreaking algorithmic system – “The Democratic Quality Vector” – that integrates predictive patterns to create a secure and reliable database, fostering interaction and problem-solving across various fields. TAGDit was born.
Today, after three published books (e.g., The Democratic Quality Vector and the New Social Agreement), two patents, and several essays and contributions to countless university theoretical physics projects, he lives with his family on a farm in rural Canada. He remains committed to the TAGDit project, striving to make the world a better place, for his children and humanity.
